A Black Female Nerd Profile

I’m 30. No kids or boyfriend. Family is worried. I invest in Marvel movies (t-shirts, leggings and funkos) and trying to find skincare for my acne scars while attempting to figure out a way to lose weight (size 3x or 4x if bloated). I’m a bit busy. Bae hasn’t happened by yet. I was too busy writing fanfic to deal with feelings I have about everything. Poems, haikus and things that are supposed to be sonnets but I can’t figure out the iambic pentameter.

To be honest, I’ve just gotten in a good groove with spending time with friends.

  1. Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your blog and
wished to say that I have truly loved surfing around your weblog posts.
After all I’ll be subscribing to your feed and I am hoping you write once more soon!

    1. Thank you very much! I’m working on setting myself up to do at least a weekly content schedule. Please feel free to let me know of there is content you particularly enjoy or if there is some you weren’t too keen on.

  2. First off I would like to say great blog! I had
a quick question which I’d like to ask if you do not mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.
I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my
thoughts out. I do take pleasure in writing but it just
seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any
    ideas or tips? Kudos!

    1. Thank you so much! In fact, writing helps me clear my head and sort my thoughts out. I keep a notebook at home where I sort out a lot of my thoughts and only the few that I feel are coherent enough make it onto my blog with a good deal of editing. Now there are times where I stare at a blank page. In these times, I listen to music to help me focus, usually classical or Jazz. Then if I still can’t think of anything I try and reflect on the week and see if anything really stuck out for me. If not, then I try again tomorrow. Sometimes you can’t force the writing and it just won’t work for you.

  3. Hello, greetings from Wales
I also use writing to clear my head space when others are bashing at the gates to get in. We were recommended Vitamin E cream for husband’s hernia scars by surgeon. Any use? But I’m guessing you’ve already tried that.
As for your verse, I’ve ASD so take stuff literally, but would you really like tips on iambic pentameter?? I maybe could give some feedback. (My subject is English Literature and I was a teacher, so …) 😉

    1. Tips would actually be helpful. I’ve never written in iambic pentameter so it would be fun to try. I meant the Shakespearean reference as a metaphor for how difficult it can be to write with specific rules rather than just writing freely.

      1. Hi I said I take things literally!! For me writing with rules is simpler so the metaphor whooshed over me.
Basically, the ‘iamb’ is 2 syllables as in ‘ta-da’ and the pentameter signifies there’s 5 of them. So iambic pentameter has 10 stresses to a line with a ‘short-long stress’ pattern. A quickie example –
A Word-Press blogger wanted so to write
From Haiku lines to Whitman’s freedom verse,
Her stacks of jotters scribed with words of might
Evoking dreams unvoiced and barren curse.
A bit of fun, from me to you. ✒😊
